So over the weekend I found myself a new home.  I’ve moved from Blogger to a Word Press self hosted blog.  You may have noticed???  Maybe??  I’ve also got a whole new look too.  I finally said goodbye to my lovely, comfy old spot on Google’s Blogger platform and made the (quite scary) leap over to Word Press.   Something I’ve been thinking about doing for some time now, but just never had the courage to actually do it.        mood board for blog design

You also may have noticed that the new blog is not performing very well (yet).  There  are lots of posts missing, dead end links and general chaos!!  I am really sorry about this and I just want to ask you all to bear with me while I try and figure it all out.  I feel like I have literally moved house and all my things are still sitting in their boxes waiting for me to put them into their lovely new spots.  The only problem is I am having to learn as I go, so my unpacking and categorising of posts is taking a whole lot longer than I first thought!!  The initial move was done by the extremely lovely and helpful Katrina from The Media Maid, who is still helping me now (by sending video tutorials when ever I get stuck).  I can highly recommend her services.

On the up side though, I LOVING my new look.  It’s been quite a process to get to this point I must say.  Trying to decided on a colour scheme, a template and a logo is really quite hard.  I can’t tell you how many hours I spent on pinterest searching for inspiration and how many times I kept changing my mind.  Once I finally had my mood board ready I handed it over the the lovely Kendra from Key Lime Designs and she came up with my logo.

So while I plod along fixing and organising my new home I would love to her your thoughts?

What do you think of the new Mrs D plus 3??

Are you in the process of re-design or moving platforms?  How’s it going?

If you are looking for anything on my blog that isn’t where is should be or if there is something you’d like to see more of then please drop me a line.  I’d love your feedback.

Happy Long Weekend everyone

    • Thanks Bec. I’m slowly becoming more and more impressed with WP – so much more you can do with it than Blogger. xx

  1. Very nice and light and bright. That’s a great photo of you too and it looks terrific up at the top there, plus the description of you is great. I’m a stickler and would love to see a capital T on Thermomix. Is that sad??

    • I will fix it just for you! Thanks – after reading things over and over I’m sure my eyes start to just glaze over!! xxx

  2. Loving the new look! I made the move from Blogger to WP in December and while it was a daunting process, it didn’t take long to learn how WP works. You’ll be a WP pro in no time!!

  3. Love the new look, it’s gorgeous! I have toyed with the idea of switching from WordPress to Blogger, but to be honest, blogger really does everything I need it to right now so I’m not too keen to rock that particular boat! Lol! Not to mention the fact that I can’t really justify the cost of paying for self-hosting at the moment (and the cost of migrating my 5 years’ worth of blogging!

    • It totally get that Kylie, that’s most of the reason I’ve been dragging my feet for so long. Migrating 5 years worth of posts would be enough to give any blogger a migraine, lol! Xx

    • Thanks chick!! GOOD LUCK with yours. Can’t wait to see it and shout if I can help out at all. Although you should probably ask someone who knows a bit more than me x

    • YES YES YES please. I would love that. I’m still very clueless and need all the help I can get. Thanks for the advice on the too xxx

    • Thanks hon. I used a lovely lady called Kendra at Key Lime Designs (link in post) and she charge $150 which I though was pretty good x

  4. Looking fantastic, my dear! I’ve heard that migrating from Blogger to WordPress is no easy feat so well done for doing a great job! So lovely to see you today too 🙂 x

  5. I never saw your old site but this one is fab. As a fellow blog-heart, I’ll be making the leap soon too.
Your blog has given me some thoughts on how to combine all my loose threads into one well-formed, focused delight. I’m still working on it…. 🙂
